GOODFELLAS barbershop.

a long-established st albans barbershop with a 5.0 rating and a live booksy diary — and a website that gave a new customer no way to book. this is what was wrong, and what i built instead.

Goodfellas Barbershop homepage — dark heritage design with red and gold detailing, booking button first

WHAT WAS
wrong.

goodfellas is the kind of shop every barber wants to be: established, busy, rated 5.0 on booksy by the people who actually sit in the chair. the website didn't know that. it was a builder-template site whose homepage carried a 'not secure' warning in the browser bar — the first thing a new customer saw was their browser telling them not to trust it.

worse, it was a dead end. there was no enquiry form and no email address anywhere on the site, so a customer who'd found the shop on google could only ring. the booking system existed, and the shop lived by it, but the site didn't lead anyone to it. the reputation was five stars; the front door was locked.

WHAT WAS
built.

a site that looks the way the shop feels: dark, heritage, red and gold detailing, big confident type — a traditional barbershop with a modern attitude, which is how the shop describes itself. it's hand-built, not a template, so it loads fast and there's no builder bloat.

the booking button is the first thing on the page and stays pinned on mobile. it goes straight to the shop's existing booksy page, so nothing changes for regulars and there's nothing new for the barbers to run. every cut is listed with its price, taken from the shop's own booksy menu, laid out as a proper menu rather than buried in a pdf. the 5.0 rating is shown as a fact, with review quotes underneath in the customer's words — added as the shop signs them off. the barbers are introduced by name. a gallery takes real cut photos straight from the shop. hours, address and a tap-to-navigate map sit where a thumb lands.

for the customer who wants something that isn't on booksy — a group booking, a question — there's a short enquiry form that actually arrives, and a privacy policy that says what happens to the details. the site is the shop's, outright, on its own domain, with hosting and care from me month to month.

WHAT I'D
say to another barber.

you already have the hard part — the rating, the regulars, the booking diary. the website's only job is to hand a stranger to that diary without a wasted tap, and to look like the shop deserves while it does. i'll show you what that looks like for your shop before you pay a penny.

MORE
work.

two clients, both real, both built by one person. no concept mockups passed off as clients.

THE OFFER.
all of it, up front.

the same deal for every business, in every town. no quote dance, no agency markup, nothing hidden until the invoice.

prices are what you pay — i'm a sole trader and not vat registered, so there's no 20% on top. the build fee is the whole build; hosting is optional and month to month.

YOUR SHOPdone like this.

send your shop's name — i'll send back a free preview of your new homepage this week.

no obligation, no newsletter, no passing your details on. one reply from me, and if it's not for you, say so and that's the end of it. how i handle your details: privacy.
