WATFORD handyman.

a family handyman business trading in central watford since 2005, launching a new site in october 2026. the old one weighed 450 kilobytes, had no privacy policy, and — with the landline gone — a form that was the whole front door.

THE
brief.

watford handyman is a small, family-run handyman business — fixing, painting and decorating, flat-pack assembly, minor electrical, the odd jobs in between — trading in central watford since 2005 with a published rate card and a book built on repeat customers. twenty years of reputation, in the biggest town in the county.

the website was a template-builder site whose homepage weighed around 450 kilobytes before it had shown a single job. it took personal details through a contact form with no privacy policy anywhere on the site. and the landline the business had always used was gone — so that form, on that page, had quietly become the entire front door to a twenty-year-old business. if it failed, the work stopped arriving.

WHAT'S BEING
built.

a hand-built site that's light, fast and honest about price. the first screen says the whole proposition — no job too small, the professional alternative to diy — with a book-a-handyman button and the rate card one tap away. services and prices are laid out so a customer knows what a first hour, a full day or a minor electrical job costs before they ever send a message.

there's a long list of the jobs people actually put off — the shelf, the dripping tap, the flat-pack wardrobe — because that's how customers search and how they think. the areas served are named by postcode and place, drawn from where the business already works. the form is treated as what it is: the front door. it's short, works with a thumb, confirms to the customer, delivers reliably to the business inbox, and sits alongside a privacy policy that actually describes what happens to the details.

the site is the business's, outright, on its own domain, with hosting, backups, security and updates on a bundled monthly plan. it goes live in october 2026, within five working days of the photos and go-ahead arriving — the same promise every client gets.

WHAT I'D
say to another trade.

if enquiries arrive by form, the form is your business. it deserves a site that loads in a second, says what you charge, names where you work, and never loses a message. i'll show you what that looks like for your trade before you spend anything.

MORE
work.

two clients, both real, both built by one person. no concept mockups passed off as clients.

THE OFFER.
all of it, up front.

the same deal for every business, in every town. no quote dance, no agency markup, nothing hidden until the invoice.

prices are what you pay — i'm a sole trader and not vat registered, so there's no 20% on top. the build fee is the whole build; hosting is optional and month to month.

YOUR TRADEdone like this.

send your business name — i'll send back a free preview of your new homepage this week.

no obligation, no newsletter, no passing your details on. one reply from me, and if it's not for you, say so and that's the end of it. how i handle your details: privacy.
